This disc brake lock will deter most thieves looking to make a quick snag. Just slip it over your motorcycle's disc brake and push the button to lock it.

Choosing the Right Disc Lock for Your Motorcycle

Start by taking a look at your disc brake. Does it have slots or holes in it, or is it solid?

Vented disc with lock pin through slot

If it has slots or holes, then you have a vented disc. Measure from the edge of the rotor to the edge of one of the slots. Then measure the slot. You'll need a lock with a locking pin small enough to fit through the slot and a throat long enough to clear the section of your rotor you measured.

Solid disc with lock pin clearing rotor

If your rotor is solid, measure the overal width. The lock you buy will need to to have a throat long enough that the entire thing can fit around your rotor with the locking pin securing inside the disc instead of through a slot.

Installation and Removal

Installing this lock on your bike is quick and easy.

Attach the reminder cable

1. Slip the reminder cable into the channel of the lock.

Install the Screamin' Demon Alarm

2. Slide the lock over your bike's brake disc and press the button down to lock the unit. If you have a vented disc and the slots are smaller than the lock pin, you can set the pin through one of the slots. Otherwise, you'll have to make sure the locking pin clears your disc to lock.

Loop reminder cable around your handlebar

3. Loop the reminder cable around your handlebar. The bright orange cable lets potential thieves know your bike is protected, and it will serve as a good reminder to remove the lock before you ride. If you don't remove the lock before riding, you could potentially break your wheel, so don't forget to remove it!

Video Transcript for Review of Trimax Locks Vehicle Locks - Yellow Motorcycle Disc Brake Lock - TMX39ZR

Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com And today we're gonna take a look at this Trimax Yellow Motorcycle Disc Brake Lock. This disc brake lock is going to help prevent rollaway theft of your motorcycle. This lock attaches to your motorcycle's brake rotor and a bright orange cord attaches to your handlebar to remind you to remove this lock before riding. And personally, I am glad to see that it does include this orange cord. I could easily see myself trying to take off on my motorcycle while forgetting that I have a lock on the disc brake of my wheel on my motorcycle.

This is gonna be very easy to use. Let me go ahead and unlock this lock. As you notice, there is a flip cap here on the top that's going to protect the key hole from dirt and moisture and it's going to keep that keyhole free from obstruction. I'm gonna use one of the keys here just to open this up. And when you unlock this lock, it's going to pop up here and then you can just turn that key back and you don't need the key to then lock this lock.

So you'll just, when you're ready to secure your bike you're gonna take one end of this cord and just slide it through the lock like this. And then you're going to line it up on that disc brake rotor. And once you have it lined up then you're just gonna simply push this lock down and I'm not gonna lock it just yet. I just wanna show you that pin. That's a three eighths of an inch pin in there.

So once you're ready to lock it you can just easily push that down. And as you probably heard it, click it is now locked into place. And then you can take the other end of this cord and put it on your handlebar. And this is gonna be easily seen as you're approaching your motorcycle. So you can remember to unlock this lock and take it off of your disc break.

So you got a pretty good length of on this cord and it's going to it's coiled. So it's going to retract back very easily. So lemme go ahead and unlock this again and take this cord off. Just insert that key, give it a turn. It is open. Turn the key back and then remove the cord. And again, just push this down and that's how you lock it very easy. Again I'm really glad to see that cap on there to keep your keyhole very nice and very clean. Speaking of the keys you do get three, which is nice. So if you lose one, you're still gonna have two as backup. And a nice feature here is one of these keys is a mini LED flashlight. So it's a push button operation. So very easy to use and in low light or dark situations are gonna be able to especially see the keyhole here of this lock. When you are ready to unlock it. The hardened steel disc lock resist cutting, sawing and chisel attacks and the anti-drill lock core is gonna prevent theft and tampering. Now, let me pull out my ruler here and give you some overall measurements to help you determine if this is going to be able to work for your application. Looking at the overall length, we are almost at four inches. I'm gonna call it right at 3 7/8 inches long overall and the width we are sitting right at a little over an inch about an inch and an eighth in width, and then the height and this is gonna be the tallest point of the lock. We are sitting right at about 2 5/8 inches tall. And again, I mentioned that that pin diameter is three eight of an inch. And so this includes everything that you see here on the table before me, you're gonna get this easy, easily visible yellow lock of this carrying case. And just real quickly, I wanted to show you how easily this slips in this has a hook and loop fastener and then a strap here to strap this maybe to your your bag or somewhere else on your bike. And what I like about this case is especially if you store this lock in a compartment on your motorcycle this is not gonna be rattling around in there. So this case is included. And then you're going to get that reminder cable that we've been talking about, the three keys. And again, this is in yellow but we also have this available in Chrome. So if yellow is not really the look that you are going for and you'd prefer to take a look at another option on your screen, I am including our item number to the Chrome version of this lock. Everything else is identical. It's just the finish. And just take that item number that you see on your screen, put it in the search field here of our website at etrailer.com. And it'll take you to that Chrome version. Personally, I like the yellow version better. The Chrome will get fingerprints and smudges on it pretty easily, and it might scratch up a little bit easier too, but this yellow color is in my opinion, a little more solid looking less likely to easily scratch up. And another plus for me is it's highly visible with that color. Overall, I'm impressed that this, this does feel heavy duty. It doesn't feel cheap or inexpensive. It, it feels like it's pretty robust and there's not like a whole lot of rattling or anything like that. So if this meets meets the specifications that you're looking for I think this is gonna be a great option for you to consider. Well, that's gonna conclude our look today. I do hope that it was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me..
